Adi Nugroho & Donita

Another lovely romantic family story in Korea come from Adi Nugroho and Donita family. This was their first time visit in Korea, they came in the perfect timing, which is the most beautiful week throughout the year, peak autumn time when every place is colorful because of the autumn trees.

This family is so lovely. They have the special nick name for each member, Poppa, Momma, Mas Vaga and Dadut. Here they are.181027DASRR-2517181027DASRR-2508181027DASRR-2412

Poppa and Momma try to re-enact some Korean Drama scene in the famous photo spot of Gyeongbokgung Palace. Do they look like Song Jong Ki and Song Hye Kyo couple already?181027DASRR-2348181027DASRR-2329

This time, Momma had a great time photo session with her heroes, Mas Vaga and Dadut (who just woke up from his important nap).

Uncle Rufus always have an idea how to make a photo session is fun for kids. Now Uncle asked Mas Vaga to jump and play around. One.. Two.. Three.. and Jumppppp..

And now, Mas Vaga had a race with Momma. Who run faster?

Momma lost the race, so Mas Vaga picked a flower and gave it to Momma. Momma please don’t be sad..

181027DASRR-2426181027DASRR-2435

Momma also tried Hanbok, Korean traditional clothes and took some beautiful photos as a Korean Princess. Who do you think a suit name for Momma? Donita Kim?

Mas Vaga and Dadut used all their energy for today, so they slept again. This time, Momma and Poppa’s turn to have their post wedding photo session. Nenek helped to take care of the kids, but Nenek took photos first with the magical yellow ginko trees.

Niki Whulan Autum’s Story in Korea

Last year of November, during the peak season of Autumn, we had session with a sweet couple Niki & Whulan in Seoul. Even though it was raining that morning, the beauty of autumn season of Korea doen’t stop us to capture the moment. The session was the 13th pre-wedding session for Niki and Whulan who were travelling the world while having shoots. They are really handsome and pretty that’s why all the picture I took came out really beautiful. Congratulations for them as they are having a happily ever after marriage life now.

Nia Ramadhani & Theresa Wienathan

Nami Island is the one of most favourite place to visit on early autumn. It is because Nami Island is the prettiest during that time. The lined-up ginko trees in Nami Island will turn into magical yellow tree between October 20-30. Last year, I captured the moment of Nia Ramdhani and Theresa Wienathan, Indonesian famous public figure while travelling in yellow Nami.

Seoul Canola Flower at Seoraesom

It is still the time for canola flowers to bloom in Seoul. Not only seeing canola in Gwangyeongdaegyo on late April, you can also visit another canola field on mid May in Soraesom. Soraesom is a small land beside Han River which is a park for leisure, have a walk, do jogging, bicyling as they also grow many kind of flowers and plants on its season. During May, they plant canola flower and have the annual canola flower festival on 2nd week of May (May 12-14, 2017 this year).

And the most important thing, photo time.

F86A6030F86A6034F86A6018

[HOWTOGETTHERE]

Soraesom is located in the middle of Seoul city, which is only 15-20 mins away from city centre. Located aroung 20 mins walking from Sinbanpyo Station (Line 9). Here’s the detailed direction.

As you arrive at Sinbanpyo Station (line 0), take exit 1.

IMG_0257

Go straight and TURN LEFT on the first intersection (only 20m from exit). You will see “PRUGIO” sign on the intersection.

IMG_0258

The Soraesom is just behind the PRUGIO apartment, so just follow the road towards the apartment.

IMG_0259

You can either take the underpass way of PRUGIO or go up passing the park. I took the underpass

IMG_0260IMG_0262

When you get out, you will see a door, go through the door and go downstairs and pass the tunnel.

IMG_0263IMG_0264

After you get out from the tunnel, the Soraesom is just in front of you, take left or right side to find a bridge going to the canola flower field.

Baeneomsil Village, Jinan

I discovered another yellow paradise in Korea. This huge canola flower field is located in Baeneomsil Village, located 15 mins away from the nearest city Jinan (4 hours away from Seoul). The canola field is so big and located just beside a small stream of Yongdam Lake and beautiful Wolpo Bridge as a background.

IMG_0213IMG_0223IMG_0207IMG_0324IMG_0199IMG_0233

It is magical yellow everywhere which is amazing. The thing is not many people know about this people, so you can enjoy it as your own paradise.

The place is quite far from the city, but if you have a chance to visit, it’s worth to try.

F86A2178F86A2184IMG_0220IMG_0282IMG_0330

[HOWTOGETTHERE]

  • First, you have to get to Jinan City. There’s two way to get there

1a) Go to Jeonju by taking bus from Seoul Express Bus Terminal which runs every 10 min start from 12.800 won (standard bus).

1b) As soon as you arrive in Jeonju, take intercity bus to Jinan from Jeonju Intercity Bus Terminal (it’s 5 min walking if you get off at Jeonju Express Bus Terminal). The bus runs every 20 min for only 3700 won, 1 hour ride.

2) Take direct bus from Seoul Express Bus Terminal to Jinan Bus Terminal. But, there are only 2 bus going there per day, 10.10 and 15.10 and cost you 15.000 won.

  • Second, as you are in Jinan Bus Terminal, take local bus to Geumji Village (금지마을) for 1000 won 15 min ride. The bus passing the village is not many : 11.00, 11.40, 12.55, 15.00, 18.20, 19.10. You have to be careful of this and ask the driver first to make sure it’s the right bus. Everything will be in Korean and they do not speak English. You can ask like this “Geumji maeul kasijyo”? (Youre going to geumji village right?)
  • Before you get off at Geumji Village Bus Stop, you gonna see the huge canola field on your right. As you get off, walk to the place for 5 min. Remember the place where you get off.
  • Take the bus from the bus stop where you get off to Jinan Bus Terminal. The afternoon schedule is only at 15.00. Do not miss it.

Note : The easier way to get there is taking taxi from Jinan Bus Terminal to Geumji Village for about 20.000 won 15 mins ride.

Seoul’s Hidden Canola Fields

Good news for everyone who is looking for the yellow canola flowers in Seoul area. You do not need to go to Busan or Jeju Island for canola flowers since you can see them in Seoul. It’s not as big as the field in other place, but it’s worthy to visit and take pictures, since its 30 mins away from downtown.

F86A1606F86A1535F86A1548F86A1600F86A1564F86A1544

Canola flowers in Seoul usually bloom on April 10th until first week of May (depend on the weather, rain and wind). In 2017, in my prediction, the best time to visit is April 18th – April 23th.

The canola flowers grow bellow the Gwangmyeong Bridge (광명대교), just next to the Anyang stream nearby Guil Station. Gwangmyeong Bridge is seen in the picture below.

[HOWTOGETTHERE]

The location is quite hard to find as it is quite far from the nearest subway station, which is Guil Station (Line 1), about 1,3km away (20mins walking). Here’s the detail direction.

As you arrive at Guil Station, take exit 1 (the exit gate is shown below)

As soon as you go out, turn right and you will see the entrance of a bridge which will accros the stream.

KakaoTalk_20170420_004127269

At the end of the bridge, turn left (under the flyover road), go straight.

KakaoTalk_20170420_004129913

When you the find a pathway going down, go down to the jogging and bicycle track beside the Anyang stream (stream should be on your left side)

This is the jogging and bicycle track beside the stream. Keep walking straight.

KakaoTalk_20170420_004132110

First, you will see tulip fields, and the canola fields is just behind it.

Gurye Sansuyu Village

Sansuyu flower is the second to bloom when spring comes to Korea. Sansuyu has yellow color with unique form.

IMG_0075IMG_0209IMG_0210

IMG_0229

The Sansuyu Village is located in the entrance of Jirisan Mountain, one of the most famous mountain in southern part of Korea.

IMG_0078IMG_0080IMG_0082

The flower usually starts to bloom on 2nd week of March and get its peak on 3rd week of March every year as they also held annual festival. In 2017, the festival is held from March 18-26. The best time to visit is March 20-25 before rain and wind blow the flower petals.

IMG_0223IMG_0236

They also build brown woody pathway along the village to accommodate guests walking and enjoying the sansuyu flowers which bloom along the way

IMG_0205IMG_0214IMG_0232IMG_0275

In this village, they have a small river where all the sansuyu flowers bloom along the stream.

IMG_0240IMG_0244IMG_0263IMG_0274

The most highlight thing from my trip was photo session with our lovely Monica wearing white dress and flower crown.

It’s quite complicated to reach this place as I recommend you to take daily tour from some agency departing from Seoul such as trazy, wemakeprice, etc. But if you wish to travel alone, here’s the information.

[HowToGetThere]

  • Take direct bus from Seoul Nambu Bus Terminal to Gurye Bus Terminal for about 4 hours.
  • Take local bus heading to Jungdong from Gurye Bus Terminal and get off at Jirisan Hot Spring bus stop.

[Tips]

  • Check the official website or recent photos on instagram before you visit, every year the condition is different. The best time to visit os March 20-25
  • Visit on weekday and early in the morning to avoid crowd.
  • If you wish to travel with daily tour from Seoul, reserve some weeks in advance because it’s gonna be sold out so fast.
  • Wear clothes whose color is contrast to yellow so you look better in photos.
